FM1925 near Edinburg Texas
Hidalgo County Irr. Dist. #1 feed canal that meets Irr. Dist.
#15 at FM1925 near Edinburg Texas.
Dist #1 supplies many end users and is in the process of upgrading
numerous measurement points
like the one seen here.
A clear view of Dist.#1 transferring water to Dist. #15 via the
under highway rectangular ducts.
The small instrument shack in the foreground houses two COMPUFLOW
C4D systems complete
with chart recorders, UPS emergency power supply, and Grainger
continuous air injection.
The COMPUFLOW module cables are routed via the conduit down into
the water and back into the ducts approximately 30 feet. There
the sensors are flush mounted into the concrete as to pose no
restriction or fouling problems. The old Macrometer has been
out of service for some time. It never worked more than 30 days
at a time sucessfully due to fouling and or mechanical failures.
Inside the display shack,
the COMPUFLOW C4D systems have been delivering accurate performance
for over 3 years.
There are few systems that can perform in an open canal irrigation
ditch.
The COMPUFLOW systems tell it like it really is.
